Gardeners Delight 2024

22nd and 23rd June – A Gardener’s Delight,

13  gardens, open over 2 days with refreshments and plant sales. Admission to all gardens for just £7.50.

The gardens opening are as follows

1 Cathy and David 101 Foxley Lane, Purley CR8 3HQ Sun only - opens 11 am

A ½ acre garden developed over 14 years, landscaped in 2020. Large patio, glasshouse, raised beds, herbaceous borders, and small vegetable patch. Designed for continuous colour from February until November. Only 15 minutes from Tadworth. If parking on Foxley Lane, please keep your wheels off the pavement. Otherwise, park in nearby Woodcote Drive. Plants - in aid of The Royal Marsden

2 Guy and Anna 87, Tattenham Way KT20 5NE Sat only Teas / plants in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Trust

140ft featuring circular lawns, shrubs, apple trees, multiple roses, sunken trampoline and Wisley-inspired play area. New additions since last opening in the bridged fishpond and herb garden.

3 Michael and Yan 128 Brighton Road KT20 6AQ Sat only Teas 

A large suburban garden with a good selection of plants and trees, which is loved, but not manicured; next door there is interesting lifelong collection of cacti and semitropical plants which is combined with the entry.

4 Marion The Copse Lodge, Brighton Rd KT20 6BL Sun only Teas / plants in aid of Barnardo's

A one-acre plot previously opened for the NGS. Features include Mediterranean Folly, Japanese garden, Shade Garden, two ponds and large vegetable and fruit plot. Front garden with shrubs and Hartley Botanic greenhouse.

5 Geoff 37 Shelvers Way KT20 5QJ Sun only

A cottage-style garden with emphasis on perennials in the borders and mature trees providing seclusion. Patio pots and hanging baskets produce an annual display of colour.

6 Keith & Elizabeth 41 Shelvers Way KT20 5QJ Sun only

Cobbles and shingle support grasses and self-sown plants backed by a bubble fountain. Annuals, phlox and many later following herbaceous plants ensure colour well into September. A garden for all seasons.

7 Sarah and Hossain 75 Shelvers Way KT20 5QQ Sat & Sun Teas / plants in aid of Look Ahead Care and Support 

A 170-foot garden, divided by a pergola. A large patio leads to a circular lawn with a water feature. A mix of trees, shrubs, roses and herbaceous borders make for a random cottage garden style. Minor changes each year.

8 Pat 15 Tadworth Street KT20 5RJ Sat & Sun Teas / plants / raffle in aid of The Ryan Neuro Therapy Centre

A medium sized established garden with a random mix of herbaceous plants and shrubs. Birds and insects are welcome. Somewhere to sit and reflect.

9 Sue and Timothy The Firs, The Hoppety KT20 5RQ Sat & Sun Plants and wood turned crafts in aid of Dyscover

A cottage garden packed with perennials, roses, annuals, bulbs and clematis. A knot garden and greenhouses for propagation and show plants. Garden Room to sit and enjoy the garden. No parking in the Hoppety.

10 Derek & gardener Morag Meon House, Meon Close KT20 5DN Sun only Teas in aid of TWOAT

Derek’s late wife’s garden is being kept up and he wishes others to see it. Mixed borders, a wildflower meadow with a shady walk lined with hellebores. New features.

11 Marion and Nick Mellows, Lothian Wood KT20 5DQ Sat & Sun

Designed for all-year interest, a small but beautiful garden packed with a wide variety of colourful perennials and shrubs with a lovely pond. Marion is a self-confessed plantaholic. Small changes each year.

12 Suzie 38, Meadow Walk, Walton KT20 7UG Sun only Teas / plants in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Trust

Cottage-style with roses, perennials and mature trees crammed into a long Victorian garden, featuring a wildlife pond and various seating areas which have recently been updated.

13 Jean and Clive 3 Nyefield Park, Walton KT20 7QR Sun only Advance HBOT centre

A well-established garden featuring camellias, rhododendrons, pieris, cotinus, hydrangeas and roses, intermixed with herbaceous perennials. A woodland area is flanked by beech and conifers.
